Occupations are defined as "everyday activities that people do as individuals, in families and with communities to occupy time and bring meaning and purpose to life" (WFOT, 2021). Productivity is a component of daily living and may include any activities you do to care for your mental, physical or emotional health. It typically includes paid employment, educational pursuits, volunteer work, home and garden maintenance, the fulfilment of obligatory roles, or financial activities. Occupational therapists work with clients to address difficulties with performing productivity occupations. Interventions to maintain or improve the ability to complete productivity occupations independently may focus on either the person, the occupation or the environment.
